Baby Time
This is a 45 minute class for babies 6 to 12 months old. At this crucial stage in your child’s development, this class will aid in advancing gross motor skills and depth perception by:
- crawling on and over mats
- exploring through tunnels
- walking on their own in our protective gym
Your child will also learn fine motor skills, such as hand-eye coordination by shaking musical instruments, reaching, and grabbing toys. Our space provides a safe and clean learning environment and the tools to help them through this learning process. Babies get to have “sing-song” time on a parachute, pop bubbles and spend time on the trampoline with their coach. Baby Time will help your child become more alert, more coordinated and more socialized.
In this class, parent participation is required. Your role is to help introduce the child to the equipment while the instructor entices the child to try new skills. You are responsible for your child at all times.
Toddler Time
At this time in development your toddler is learning gross motor skills, such as running and jumping. In this 45 minute class your toddler gets the opportunity to swing, jump, roll and experience the fundamentals of gymnastics through the use of our top of the line equipment and experienced instructors. The following are some of the benefits of enrolling your toddler in gymnastics:
- body awareness and coordination
- mastering gross motor skills
- opportunity for socialization
During this class, there are opportunities for structure, such as parachute time and our popular "ABC" time on trampoline. We encourage the toddlers to wait their turn to prepare them for the transition class, however do not require that kind of structure in the toddler time class.
In this class, parent participation is required. Your role is to help introduce the child to the equipment while the instructor entices the child to try new skills. You are responsible for your child at all times.
Transition
This is a 45 minute class designed for children who are close to 3 years old to "learn how to learn". It is the first time the gymnast will go from a "child directed" class to a "coach directed" environment. The word "transition" is key because that is exactly what the child will be experiencing during this stage of development. Our job together, as the coach and the parent is to set parameters for the child in regards to social and emotional behavior. Your child will gain the confidence it takes to participate in a class independently while learning many new skills that help with their coordination.
Klub 45
These 45 minute classes are offered in three different age groups: the 3, 4, and 5 year old classes. Students are learning how to roll, do handstands and cartwheels utilizing the other equipment in the gym; the spring floor, rings, trampoline, bars, and balance beam. Your child will gain an understanding of synchronizing mind and body through the use of obstacle courses and technique training. They gain a better understanding of body awareness and confidence through our unique teaching style. The goal of this class is for the student to not only learn the technique of gymnastics, but to also walk away with more confidence after experiencing successful situations in the gym. Children with experience in this class are able to apply what they learn to other sports and athletic environments.
Beginning Level 1
This is an hour long class for kids 6 years and above who are new to gymnastics. Your child will work on skills on all of the events including the rings, bars, vault, trampoline, balance beam, and the floor exercise. We focus on teaching skills in a positive way so the child leaves the class more confident and willing to try new things. Our teaching philosophy is effective in that we are able to challenge our students physically while giving them the opportunity to gain self-esteem by putting them in situations that set them up for success.
Beginning Level 2
This hour long class is designed for students who have excelled in the Beginning Level 1 class and are now ready for a bigger challenge. At this point, the student has learned a basic understanding of each event in gymnastics. They have also learned safety techniques, such as how to position the head during a roll and how to land safely. A level 2 gymnast is working on the same skills as a level 1 gymnast, but with a higher level of mastery. For example, a level 2 gymnast can do a cartwheel and is ready to learn a round off on the floor.
Intermediate Level 1
A student in the intermediate class is comfortable with the fundamentals on all events and is now ready to take a more aggressive approach to their gymnastics. For example, the gymnast has grasped an understanding of how to do a round off and is now ready to learn how to implement speed and power into a running round off. In this class, we spend time on each event: vault, bars, beam, rings and the floor exercise.
Intermediate Level 2
At this level, students feel comfortable enough with their bodies to implement speed into tumbling and have developed the confidence and coordination it takes to try new skills on the other events. They are introduced to more advanced skills. For example, students are learning progressions for front flips, back handsprings, and connecting round-offs to back handsprings.
Advanced Tumbling
At this level, gymnasts are working on higher level skills on the floor exercise and power trak. This in an invite only class, due to the level of the workout. Students at this level are focused not only on accomplishing a trick, but performing the trick with the correct technique. For example, they are performing round off back handsprings confidently and are learning ariel tricks that do not use hands.
Advanced
During class time, the student grasps a deeper understanding of techniques used on all the events in gymnastics. Because gymnasts learn round offs and back handsprings in intermediate level 2, this class focuses on improving form and technique. For example, at this point the student now learns back tucks, which requires body control and awareness while rotating in the air. They have also acquired a deeper understanding of the physics involved in the skills they are working on.
Demo Team
This is an invite only show team that performs at local schools, fairs, and community events. This group practices for an hour and a half every week and consists of students who can agree to a higher level of commitment. This team consists of gymnasts tumbling at intermediate and advanced levels.
Klub Team
The Klub Team's main focus is to prepare for sanctioned competitions state wide. Students at this level are preparing routines on each event and participate in our annual showcase. Team members focus on routine skills, dance, and the highest level of technique.
