Bruins Down Bears, 197.750-197.225

Berkeley, Calif. – UCLA showed just how deep its lineup is, competing a season-high 15 gymnasts and resting some standouts yet still scoring 197.750 in a dual meet victory at California. The Golden Bears had a strong meet of their own, scoring a season-high 197.225.

The Bruins (9-1) started the meet with a season-best performance on uneven bars, scoring 49.525 to take the first rotation lead over Cal (5-4), who scored 49.4 on vault. Dennis led off with a career-high 9.9, followed by back-to-back 9.85s from Katelyn Ohashi and JaNay Honest. In just her second routine of the year, freshman Savannah Kooyman scored a career-high 9.875, paving the way for back-to-back 9.95s by Christine Peng-Peng Lee and Kyla Ross.
